I’d like to introduce to you Tim Ritchie.
Tim is our resident running blogger at Heartbreak Hill Running Company & SEAC>>>>. Why Tim? Well, for one, Tim plans on running a 2:12 Boston Marathon on April 15th. How can a guy who’s never run the marathon expect to do that? Thank you for asking. In 2012 Tim did the following:
1) Mile: 3:58.49 (8:05.48 for 3000m just 2 hours later)
2) 15K: 44:41 (3rd at US 15K National Championships)
3) Half-marathon: 1:03:57 (5th at US Half Marathon Championships in Duluth)
4) 10K: 28:44.86; 5K: 13:56.51; 10 miles: 47:25 (4th US 10 Mile Championships)
Tim was selected Male Runner of the Year by New England Runner for 2012 and he coaches cross country and track & field at Boston College. I call him Boston’s fastest and I don’t think that can be disputed.
What’s more, he’s a humble, articulate guy. His insights into the sport of running are applicable at all levels and his passion for the sport is infectious. We’re so excited to have an athlete and person of Tim’s caliber working with us on this project.
Follow his personal road to the 2012 Boston Marathon and tune in for training tips from the man right here on our blog.
